A draw versus Chelsea at any other time of the season wouldn’t be such an unwelcome result, but Tuesday’s clash at Anfield was a must win for Liverpool if they wanted to have any say in the title race. After a fantastic entertaining opening game of the season for Liverpool, this piece looks at with the preferred formation of 4-3-3 in its simplest form. I ask the question: Is the current midfield balance correct to fit Liverpool’s strengths and weaknesses? On Sunday, Liverpool started with a midfield three of Jordan Henderson, Georginio Wijnaldum and Adam Lallana.  Henderson played as the deepest of the three, and in my view put in a decent performance.
