Spartak Moscow 1
Loris Karius – 4.5
Makes an error for the opposition goal, not readjusting his feet or getting a good enough look at the free kick from Fernando. Swept up well on one occasion, and made a good punching save on another.
Trent Alexander-Arnold – 6.5
Constantly in good positions, hit and miss with his final ball. Also had a dangerous shot which just missed the far post.
Joel Matip – 6
Carried the ball out from the back well, not sure what to do with it when he got forward sometimes, but generally good. Not troubled much defensively.
Dejan Lovren – 6
Like Matip, wasn’t troubled. Kept it simple at the back and made a couple of interceptions.
Alberto Moreno – 7.5
Arguable Liverpool’s best player. So quick down the left, and a passing accuracy of 92% shows he was tidy too.
Jordan Henderson – 6.5
One dangerous cross in the first half should have given him an assist. Often in Matip’s way when he’s trying to build from the back, but looks better in the opponents half lately.
Emre Can – 4
Sloppy, careless, and wasteful in both attack and defence. A poor blind pass led to an important loss of possession which resulted in the free kick from which Spartak scored.
*Philippe Coutinho – 7.5
Edges Moreno as MOM thanks to his well taken goal. also good in midfield aside from this, trying to make things happen constantly.
Mohamed Salah – 6
A few inches away from getting on the end of things. Not quite there yet, but will be some player when it clicks.
Sadio Mane – 7
A lively outlet on his return to the side. Looked a lot wider than in recent appearances, and like Salah was a regular threat. Assisted the goal.
Roberto Firmino – 4.5
Tireless but unable to take chances. Creates good situations for himself with his work rate and movement off the ball, but couldn’t capitalise on any of them.
Georginio Wijnaldum – 5.5
Daniel Sturridge – 4.5
Might have offered the clinical finishing Firmino lacked, but was worse if anything and his touch was poor.
